About me

Hey everyone! I’m Omry, from Israel and I currently live in Vienna. In 2015, my family and I left Israel and moved to Moscow, Russia due to my father’s job. We lived in Moscow for 2 years and moved to Vienna. When we have time, on weekends, during holidays/breaks from school we travel to different places. We were in Slovenia, Prague, Hungary, Salzburg, Slovakia, Amsterdam and I’m sure we’ll visit more places soon.

Omry Israel- 3 Days in Moscow

3 DAYS IN MOSCOW
By Omry Israel

Have you always wanted to visit Moscow? This is a great blog for you!
My favorite season to travel is during summer. There are plenty of things to do
in Moscow during this season.
But first of all, choose a way to get there! There are a couple of
good prized airlines that can get you to the city. I got to Moscow by using Aeroflot airlines.

The prize was surprisingly cheap. The airport was easy to get through and
there are taxis, fast trains and public transport straight when you get out.

Day 1:
We had to visit the red square. We knew that the trip will not be complete without visiting the 'heart of Moscow'. It is the most famous place in the city. It is an absolute must do!
There are lots of festivals and markets there and especially during the summer.

We got to the square around 10 in the morning and went straight to the historical museum. We bought our tickets about 2 weeks before we came which saved us time. Here is the link to the website where you can buy the tickets in a good price:

There are also different famous places in the area that I loved!
Kremlin walls :  The red walls of the kremlin surround the red square.  Just so you know, you can't go inside the kremlin walls unless you are visiting the museum.

I remember I stoped for a minute and looked around.  I saw 5 old women walking around wearing their traditional clothes, 'sarafan' which is a long jumper dress. They were dancing and singing in a big circle and the tourists came to learn the traditional dance in the middle of the red square. A funny memory... 😁

For lunch we went to 'Dr Zhivago', a fancy traditional restaurant, 5 minutes walk from the red square. I really recommend to try the 'borscht' soup and their popular dumplings. The address: Mokhovaya St, 15/1.

The last place in the area that we went to on our first day trip was the GUM.  The decoration of the building during the night is AMAZING. It is a really fancy and expensive mall and over 100 famous brands are presented there. The gum is facing the Bolshoi theater which is another famous building in the center of the city.

Day 2:
My absolute favorite park in Moscow was Gorki Park!
(Krimsky Val, 9).
There are sooooo many different things you can do in this park, we almost spent our whole day there. There are bicycle and skate rental spots throughout the park, 'beach' in the middle of the park, art museum, ping pong areas, public art project and during the summer different festivals. As I said before, we have been in Moscow during the summer and there was a fashion show in the middle of the park. I loved it! It was free and you could see everything clearly. We bought 3 types of lemonades in one of the stands. The smell of popcorn in every corner of the park was so strong that I had to see what they are have there. I was surprised to see that they are selling  hot corns in the middle of summer.

A restaurant that I would recommend in the park will be 'Vermena Gorda' (Titovskiy Dr., 2Moscow 119049).

Day 3:
This was a half day and our last one in Moscow. We woke up early and decided to go and see some of the metro stations in the city. It is much faster to get somewhere in Moscow by metro than by car. Every station has s historical story behind it. My favorite station was Novoslobodskaya, a very simple station decorated with different types of marbles. The metro stations in this city look like museums!!! I recommend taking a tour with a guide to understand more about each station.

It was time for us to leave Moscow. After we passed all the security checks in the airport, we sat in a cafe place called Costa Coffee. The prices were absolutely fine for a sandwich and a coffee.

I hope I helped you and gave you different reasons which will make you want to start packing right now. I will come back to Moscow for sure in the future

🇷🇺  HAVE FUN IN THIS AMAZING CITY! 🇷🇺
